The results of the TÜBİTAK 2209-A – University Students Research Projects Support Program (2025/1 Term) have been announced.

Geophysical Engineering Student Summit 2026 Successfully Held

The Geophysical Engineering Student Clubs of Istanbul Technical University, Ankara University, Dokuz Eylül University, and Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa organized the Geophysical Engineering Student Summit 2026 on May 13–14, 2026, at the ITU İhsan Ketin Conference Hall with the aim of strengthening professional collaboration on a national scale.

Technical Visit to Esenyurt Metro Construction Site

With the support of the Istanbul Branch of the Chamber of Geophysical Engineers (TMMOB), members of the Geophysical Engineering Club and our students participated in a technical field trip on May 16, 2026, to the metro station currently under construction by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) in Esenyurt.

Students Visit Gabar Drilling Sites

As part of the Ministry of Youth and Sports' Young Energy Project, which periodically organizes technical visits to the petroleum fields of Şırnak and Batman, students from the ITU Department of Geophysical Engineering participated in a field trip to the drilling sites in Gabar through the involvement of the ITU Geophysical Engineering Club.

Technical Visit to TPAO Thrace Regional Directorate

On Saturday, April 11, 2026, we visited the Thrace Regional Directorate of the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) in Lüleburgaz, Tekirdağ, through a technical field trip organized by the ITU Geophysical Engineering Club. The visit was attended by our students, faculty members, and club representatives.

YLSY Grant

A total of 13 scholarship positions have been allocated in the field of Geophysical Engineering for candidates who wish to pursue graduate studies abroad and subsequently be employed at public universities and governmental institutions in Türkiye.

Orientation Meeting for New Students

Our orientation meeting for newly enrolled students was held at our faculty on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

Türkiye's Energy Future Exploration Program

In cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO), technical field visits will be organized to TPAO facilities located in the Batman and Şırnak (Gabar) regions. The program aims to enhance university students' technical knowledge, provide opportunities for on-site observation, and facilitate direct interaction with professionals in the energy sector.
